Digital Transformation and its Reflection on the Social Structure of the Libyan Family: A Field Study of a Sample of Families in the City of Tarhuna
Abstract
This study dealt with digital transformation and its impact on the social structure of the Libyan family for a sample of heads of households in Tarhuna. This study aims to identify digital transformation and the extent to which it contributes to changing the social structure of the Libyan family in the city of Tarhuna. The researchers relied on the descriptive method, while the researchers conducted an interview with five heads of households in the city of Tarhuna, and they relied on the intentional sample to collect data. The study reached many results, the most important of which are: social relations before digital transformation were relationships dominated by familiarity and social closeness; social isolation and social distancing between family members are among the most dangerous risks of digital transformation; the change in some social norms and values and the lack of social interaction after the digital transformation as a result of openness to other cultures and the attempt to rebel against the social reality; and that digital transformation is one of the causes of family disintegration.
